SEO News & Research - Edit Optimisation

Next SEO Workshop is Thursday 30th April 2009

Following the success of the last workshop, which we now do every 6 months, Edit Optimisation will be delivering a workshop on search engine optimisation. If you would like to attend full details can be found here, or you can give us a call!

How SearchWiki affects SEO

Google has just released Searchwiki - but does it affect seo? Is the world of search engine optimisation really changed by Google's latest effort?

Government funds Edit Optimisation to Deliver SEO Workshops to businesses

Having delivered lectures in the past, we have always been sure to have delegates feel that they have receieved value for money. In this situation people now pay nothing! The government are funding it directly which means that there is no charge to those attending. We have also added a resources page to the site, which outlines some of the core online tools that we use so that people we have spoken to can access the same software that full time SEO's are using.

Six months on and Gumtree's traffic has rocketed - straight 10% increase!

Following our reworking of the onsite optimisation for the Gumtree London website, the results have been brilliant. They have had a 10% overall rise in traffic which, for a website of that size, is huge! So, a job well done... but what a job it was. Having to make sure that each and every page on the site was individually optimised was no minor task. They have a huge number of pages. Still, the results clearly justifies the effort.

Edit Optimisation now a government prefered supplier

Edit Optimisation are now an official government prefered supplier. This means that they are now being recommended directly by advisory groups, such as Business Link London, as a trustworthy source of both link building and optimisation. We are hoping to expand on this following a meeting at their offices next week.

Meeting with the Gumtree team this week

We have a meeting this week with the optimisation team from Gumtree. With over seven hundred thousand pages, and close to a million inbound links, this would be a lovely site to work with. More news on that as it develops...

Edit Optimisation put forward for government supplier

Edit optimisation, following a fortuitous meeting with a government body at a networking event in London, is now currently in the process of being put forward to be a preferred government supplier. What does this mean for the company? Well 2 things. Firstly the government do hand out a number of grants to companies in order to help them start up. They do not, however, tend to just give the cash away! The government like to pay for the services that the successful grant applicant wants directly, in order to ensure that it is being spent as agreed. Should this go through we may well end up with a large amount of business helping new business to start up...
